Policies on Behavior in the Library


In order to make a visit to the library pleasant for all of our patrons, please refrain from the following behaviors:

  • Talking in a loud voice that disturbs others.
  • Running, shouting, or chasing others.
  • Using cell phones, personal audio players, or other electronic equipment in a way that disturbs others.
  • Using the Internet & workstation computers in violation of our computer policy. Remember, only adults may use the adult computers. Those under 18 must have a permission card on file in order to use the children’s computers. Using the public computers to view pornographic and obscene material is strictly prohibited, and violators will lose their computer privileges.
  • Deliberately disorganizing materials.
  • Petitioning, soliciting, or distributing literature.
  • Defacing, destroying, or damaging library property.
  • Leaving children under age 10 unattended.
