Friends of the Library
What Do Friends Do?
We are proud that the Library System's services, resources, and programs benefit everyone, regardless of age, gender, race, or interests. Friends increase public awareness of these services, resources, and programs, sponsor cultural events at the library, and help raise money for materials, furnishings, and renovations.
How Much Time Will It Require?
You can help set up and run a library program, join the Board, attend meetings, and brainstorm about programs for the library, or you can simply view your membership as a annual monetary donation to help the library. The time you devote is up to you.
Who Can Join?
Individuals, families, or organizations.
How Much Does It Cost?
Dues for membership cover operating expenses, vary among the Friends groups for each library branch, and cost as little as $3 per year.

The Library Foundation
The mission of the Campbell County Public Library Foundation is to maintain continuity of library services through financial stability, embrace new directions, and involve the community in support of the library. The CCPL Foundation promotes the value of the library, secures funds to assure a maximum quality of services and reading materials, and facilitates the continuation of adult literacy for citizens of local communities. We happily accepted our first donation for $3,750 on September 29, 2005, from the Campbell County Heritage Book Committee.
The Campbell County Public Library System shares IRS exemption status, so donations are tax-deductible. Please make checks out to “Campbell County Public Library Foundation”. We accept donations of any amount throughout the year.
Memorial Fund: You may establish a fund for books or other materials in a friend or family member’s memory. Please indicate the individual’s name when you give. You can also remember the library in your will.
Book Funds: You may also create a fund for specific collections of the library (e.g. Large Print Books, Adult Fiction). If you would like to establish a fund in memory or in honor of someone, we will place a special book plate within the book or books bought with your donation.
Giving in Honor: If you would like to honor a special person or occasion with a gift to the library, we will send a card to the honoree announcing your gift.
Materials Donations
We accept donations of books, audiobooks (on tapes or CD's), music CD's, DVDs, and VHS tapes. We cannot accept magazines, text books, encyclopedias, Reader's Digest Condensed Books, or any materials that are outdated, damaged, moldy, or are otherwise in unacceptable condition. Not all donated materials will be added to the collection. Donated materials are evaluated based on our materials selection policies. When a donated item is not added to the collection, it is given to the Friends of the Library groups who regularly hold book sales which provide financial support for Campbell County Public Libraries.
We also have a need for items pertinent to Campbell County's history. This includes family and personal histories, church histories, historic photographs, and locally-produced genealogical materials. If you have historic photographs of Campbell County, we would love to add them to our digital collection. These images can be digitized, and the original copy will be returned to you.
