Who Can Get a Card
How to Get Your Card
All persons applying for a library card must present two forms of identification showing the current address. One of these IDs must be a photo ID. In lieu of a Driver's License, photo ID must be issued by one of the following agencies:
• Employer
• Government (ex. State ID card, Passport)
• Military
• Organization (ex. Membership card)
• School
If the photo ID does not contain an address or the current address, the patron must provide two additional IDs that verify the current address. If the mailing address is a post office box, then a physical address is also required.
In order to sign up for a library card, children under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian with them, and that parent or guardian must either already have a valid Campbell County Public Library card or must sign up for a library card at that time. Children under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian signature.
Borrowing Limits
All eligible materials are checked out for a 2-week loan period. Videos are limited to 4 per family. CDs and books on tape are limited to 4 per person. There is no limit on the number of other materials; however, patrons are asked to consider others when checking out materials on only one subject.
Reference and Virginia Collection materials are non-circulating and must remain in the Library.

Placing Holds
Any materials that may be checked out may be reserved. The library will call to let you know when your requested material is available. Materials must be picked up within one week of the date called. Holds may be placed in person, on the phone, or online through your patron account.
Renewing Your Borrowed Items
All eligible materials may be renewed for a maximum of three times. New items and items on hold may not be renewed. Renewals can be made by telephone, but please make sure to have your library card handy, since we need your library card number to access your account. You may also renew items online through your patron account. Overdue items may be renewed, but a fine will be generated for the initial overdue period.
Library Fines
Overdue fees are 10 cents per business day on all materials, with a maximum of $5 per item. Senior citizens age 60 and over will be exempt from fines. It is the responsibility of patrons to notify the circulation desk when they reach senior status.
Fees other than fines are:
$1 – replacement of library card
$1 – bar code missing from book
$1 - postage offset for Interlibrary Loan Requests
If a patron has more than $5.00 or more in fines on their account, they may not check out or renew items until fines have been paid and the account balance is less than $5.00.
