Paws to Read
Currently available in 3 locations. Available in all 4 branches beginning in Summer 2012.
Campbell County Public Library would like to invite children ages 5 and up to the “Paws to Read” program. Paws to Read is a very simple concept. Children read to one of our “Library Dogs” in a positive nonthreatening and fun environment. The dog listens and doesn’t tease, laugh or joke at the child. Many children have already benefited from the program and the opportunity to read to such a non-critical, caring listener!
Children can come to the Timbrook Library every Monday, the Rustburg library every Thursday, or the Altavista Library every Thursday from 3:30-4:30 to read to one of our Paws to Read dogs. A Paws to Read schedule will be in place in Brookneal beginning in the Summer of 2012.
This program is free of charge and is open to the public. Registration is not required to attend Paws to Read.
