Taking Charge of Childhood Obesity
The Campbell County Public Library will present a special program on Childhood Obesity. Parents will recieve information, with sample snacks and pedometers for all. Children will have a separate program creating healthy snacks they can make themselves and learning how to build “steps” on their free pedometers into their day.

The Campbell County Public Library will present a special program on Childhood Obesity on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at their Rustburg location from 3:30 PM to 5:00 pm. Parents will be empowered to help their families achieve healthy body weights through nutrition and activity information, with sample snacks and pedometers for all. Children will have a separate program creating healthy snacks they can make themselves and learning how to build “steps” on their free pedometers into their day.
Janelle Seagle, a registered Dietitian with the Health Department in Rustburg, is involved in WIC program. She will be assisted in her presentation by her summer intern, Rebecca Alligood Smith, who is a dietetic student at Eastern Michigan University online program. Library staff will be working with the children.
